VALENTINA & ALEN
From the moment Valentina and Alen chose Maškovića Han, it was clear this wedding would be unforgettable.
This zero-category cultural monument, transformed into a heritage hotel, perfectly blends authentic history with modern luxury. Its rectangular Ottoman fortress design, sharp Islamic arches, and finely carved stone walls create a timeless backdrop that holds centuries of stories.
The groom’s Croatian roots inspired the couple to incorporate traditional elements that celebrated Dalmatia’s rich beauty. They embraced a vibrant spring palette — bursting with lively colors that blended the charm of an Italian garden wedding with the warmth of the Mediterranean. This spirit was reflected in every detail: from the food and drinks to the carefully chosen decor. Natural materials like stone, linen, glass, and fresh citrus created an elegant yet relaxed setting, while delicate parasols, sculptural ceramics, and fruit accents brought a playful Mediterranean flair. The florals were bright and airy, arranged loosely to soften the historic stone architecture and add energy to the space.
The wedding morning was absolutely perfect. Everyone enjoyed a lively brunch before the big moment, setting a joyful and warm atmosphere for the entire day. The bride and bridesmaids shared emotional moments reading heartfelt letters and danced together throughout the morning. To set the mood, every detail was thoughtfully matched — from their bright yellow morning outfits to coordinating face masks — creating a sense of harmony and celebration from the very start.
Before the ceremony, everyone gathered on the terrace overlooking Vrana Lake, where traditional Dalmatian music and refreshing drinks set a warm and welcoming mood. From there, guests embarked on a panoramic boat cruise across the lake to the church, adding a magical touch to the day. The ceremony itself was held in the nearby church — a heartfelt and emotional celebration that deeply touched all present.
The reception transformed the historic stone courtyard into a vibrant Mediterranean garden. Bright, lively colors complemented the textured stone walls, while the tables were beautifully set with layers of natural linen, glassware that caught the light, fresh citrus accents, and pops of color from vivid florals. Handmade Brač stone table numbers, delicate parasols, and sculptural ceramics added charming, playful details. The menu offered a flavorful journey through Dalmatian cuisine, perfectly matching the Mediterranean atmosphere.Thoughtful gifts of homemade Croatian salsa and handmade orecchiette extended the Mediterranean story, reflecting the couple’s heritage and the beauty of the location.
The celebration continued with a joyous first dance, lively music mixing international beats and Croatian favorites, and dancing that lasted late into the night.
